Right now, childcare-related employee turnover and absenteeism costs North Carolina’s employers $4.29 billion every year. What’s more: our state is missing out on an additional $1.36 billion annually in tax revenue because of the lack of affordable and accessible childcare options.
Together, this means that the childcare crisis is costing North Carolina more than $5.65 billion per year in economic activity. This is not how we set our state, our businesses, and our children up for success. ExCEL NC is looking to change that.
