Our Strategic Framework
We know that North Carolina’s business community has the capacity to bring about meaningful change for our state’s economies and families. ExCEL NC’s members raise awareness, foster engagement, and lead action around solutions that can transform the state’s economy and early childhood education landscape.
Engagement
We host local and regional convening so we can understand community-specific economic and child care challenges and opportunities; build local partnerships; and galvanize support for comprehensive policy action.
Action
We celebrate local innovations and successes; cultivate local government support for solutions; and connect with state leaders to advocate for tested policies that set North Carolina’s children, families, and businesses up for success.

Advocacy with Purpose
ExCEL NC’s business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community champions advocate for solutions that strengthen North Carolina’s child care system, because a stable child care infrastructure is essential to a thriving workforce and economy. Our advocacy focuses on aligning economic development and early childhood policy, so North Carolina remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
Advocacy in Action
We engage with and inform legislators and policymakers to share about the critical toll the child care crisis is exacting on our businesses and promote sustainable, statewide solutions. We host and participate in legislative roundtables, summits, and other events that elevate the voices of business and community leaders.
Our Executive Champions work to align our priorities and serve as strategic communicators for our mission. Together, they champion North Carolina’s economic future and help us transform business insights into actionable policy.
Advocacy In Our Community
Our Coalition Members show their support for policies that strengthen the early learning system, increase workforce participation, and drive economic growth. They attend our events, share our reports and proposed solutions with their networks, and stand with us as we drive change across the state.
