Kristi Maida, PhD, is an accomplished educator and child advocate with over two decades of leadership in early education, policy development, and public media. Holding a doctorate in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy, she brings deep expertise and a systems-level perspective to her work.
A former policy fellow and trusted voice in the field, Kristi has championed initiatives that strengthen child care infrastructure and support working families across North Carolina. She believes that accessible, high-quality child care is essential to the success of communities and small businesses alike.
As a proud Durham resident and dedicated mother, she blends professional insight with personal commitment in her role at ExCEL NC, where she supports the mission to build a resilient, inclusive North Carolina—one where children, families, and businesses thrive together.
